1)
Knowledge of Accounting and Financial Reporting:
Since you will be joining us, it would be useful if
you have a core understanding of accounts and financial reporting. Also have an
idea of how an Insurance and Investment company operates. Like what their
sources of income and major expenditures are. And what they do with surplus
funds.
2) IFRS:
Our client reports its Financial Statements as per
IFRS. So it is important that you have knowledge of the International Financial
Reporting Standards. We know you might have studied Indian Accounting
Standards, so just take some time reading up IFRS too, you should not have much
trouble understanding them. And if you are a part of our team, help will always
be around the corner.
3) Good
computer skills:
Of course we don't expect you to write codes like a
champion programmer. But you should have good command over Microsoft Excel,
Word and PowerPoint.
It is also important that you are open to and good at learning new software. Because we use a few
software to consolidate and generate financial data. Do not sweat, we will
train you on how to use them, but be prepared to learn with a smile.
4) Be a good Communicator:
This is a client facing job. In fact talking with
clients about the reports we make and answering their queries is a very
important part of our job. So don’t be shy, be prepared to talk about your
work. Even our client enjoys a good conversation.
5) Find
Work:
Be a self-starter. You will have a set of
responsibilities. But apart from that, feel free to look around, talk to other
teams, understand and innovate. Think about how we can do better, be better.
A.k.a assigns work to you.
